Eulogy for Martin Peters

Ten years ahead of his time

Drifting unseen

Like a ghost

Onto the far post

Positionally nonpareil

Hapless opponents

Cast adrift

In his wake

Arriving late

In the area

Like a magical hologram

Wreaking havoc

His legendary headers

Like glances in the mist

Gilzean-like in grace -

Never missed

Drifting unseen

Like a ghost

Onto the far post

Ten years ahead of his time.
